Construction Project Manager

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana Compensation: $85,000-$110,000 base salary (depending on experience) Employment Type: Full-Time The Opportunity A well-established specialty contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial drywall, metal framing, insulation, and interior construction projects throughout Central Indiana. This is an opportunity for a construction professional who understands how to manage projects from turnover through closeout, build productive relationships with general contractors and field teams, and take ownership of project financial performance. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple commercial construction projects from initial turnover through final closeout Review contracts, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements Coordinate closely with estimators, field leadership, superintendents, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors Develop and maintain project budgets, cost projections, schedules, and manpower plans Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, material procurement, and project documentation Track project costs, labor productivity, billing, collections, and overall financial performance Identify potential scope gaps, schedule conflicts, and cost exposures before they become larger project issues Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams Support field leadership by ensuring materials, information, manpower, and decisions are available when needed Maintain strong client relationships and help position the company for repeat business Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality expectations Ideal Background Previous project management experience within commercial construction Experience with drywall, metal framing, ceilings, insulation, painting, interior specialties, or another self-performing specialty trade is strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work Strong understanding of project cost control, forecasting, scheduling, change-order management, and billing Comfortable managing multiple active projects and competing priorities Strong organizational, communication, and client-management skills Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel Proficiency with common construction-management and project-documentation platforms Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not required with relevant industry experience What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out Established contractor with a strong reputation in the market Consistent project activity across commercial and multifamily construction Opportunity to manage projects for respected general contractors, developers, and builders Collaborative environment where project managers work closely with experienced field and operational leadership Company culture centered on teamwork, integrity, commitment, quality, respect, and balance Long-term advancement potential within a growing organization Competitive base salary and benefits package Confidentiality All inquiries will be handled confidentially.
