We are seeking compassionate Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to join our growing team across multiple UnityPoint Clinic locations and specialties. Our CMAs play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting providers, assisting with exams and treatments, coordinating care, and educating patients. Primary Care:

• Family Medicine:
• Des Moines Family Medicine - Ingersoll - Monday-Friday 7AM-5:30PM - FRIDAYS OFF
• Indianola Family Medicine - Mon 7:45AM-6PM, Tues/Wed/Fri 7:45AM-5PM, Thurs 7:45AM-12PM
• West Des Moines Family Medicine - Mills Civic - 4 days/week 7:30AM-5PM + 1/2 day OR 7AM-5:30PM - 4 days/week
• West Des Moines Family Medicine - Lakeview - Monday-Friday 7AM-5PM
• Waukee Family Medicine - Hickman Rd.- Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5PM
• Windsor Heights Family Medicine - Monday-Friday 7AM-5:30PM - TUESDAYS OFF
• Internal Medicine:
• Des Moines Parks Area Internal Medicine - E. 14th St. - Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
• West Des Moines Internal Medicine - Lakeview - Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5PM

• LAB -CMA
• Waukee Med Park - CMA for LAB - Monday-Friday 7:45AM-5PM
• Grimes Family Medicine - CMA for LAB - Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM

• Pediatrics
• Des Moines Pediatrics - Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, Wednesday 8AM-12PM + weekend rotation every ~12 weeks

Specialty Care:

• Waukee Pulmonology - Grand Prairie Pkwy - Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM 
• Waukee Colorectal Surgery - Grand Prairie Pkwy - Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
• West Des Moines OB/GYN - Lakeview - Monday-Friday (4 days/week) 6:45AM-4PM - 32 hours/week
• Des Moines OB/GYN - Methodist - Monday-Friday (4 days/week) 7:15AM-5:15PM
• Des Moines Cardiology - Penn Ave. - Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM
• Des Moines EP Cardiology - Methodist - Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
• Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
• Work in specialty under provider to assist with the needs of the patient as directed
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Valid and current certification in the state of Iowa for Medical Assisting
• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required. 
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: 
• National Healthcare Association 
• American Association of Medical Assistants 
• National Center for Competency Testing 
• National Certified Medical Assistant
• National Association of Health Professionals 
• American Registry of Medical Assistants 
• American Allied Health 
• American Medical Technologists
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
