The successful candidate is responsible for setting and adhering to the maintenance budget, forecasting future facility needs of equipment replacement, repair, upgrades to buildings, & new construction, and supervising a team of four. The position assures compliance with all federal and state laws, codes, regulations, and OSHA standards. Additionally, the position works with and oversees two programs with outside entities for the facilities Sage Brush Project and Dog Program.Human Resource Contact: View email address on click.appcast.io | 307-857-3326The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.Manages a staff of subordinate supervisors and trades technicians who perform daily and long-range maintenance tasks related to HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.Manages facility construction projects performed by Wyoming Department of Corrections maintenance staff or contracted vendors.Schedules projects and allocates resources.Prepares annual maintenance budgets.Provides project cost estimates.Writes services contracts and oversees contract services.Works closely with engineers and architects on design criteria for building construction and renovation projects.Ensures that project designs integrate into existing systems.Oversees funding and allocation of funds for projects to ensure appropriate funding to approved construction projects.Assists in the completion of facility work orders.Ensures the safety and security of the prison is maintained through tool control and best practices.Works with and oversees programs with outside entities for the facility's Sage Brush Project, and Dog Program.Oversees the facility's Vehicle Motor Pool.Works closely with all department heads, especially Agriculture and Security.Oversees overall Facility appearance and maintenance.Responsible for adhering to procurement policies and procedures while completing and managing all required purchasing documentation.QualificationsPreferences **Agency Requirements: This position must pass a background/reference check.Good working knowledge of project managementSkill in work management and supervision of personnelSkill in budget management and control, administration decisionKnowledge of government rules and regulationsKnowledge of EPA and DEQ regulations in regard to boiler operationsKnowledge of OSHA standards and complianceAbility to design and complete work in a high-security environmentAbility to maintain effective human relations with staff and inmatesKnowledge of and proficiency with computer applications, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum Qualifications: Education: As required by the Licensing Board Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Master Electrician LicenseNecessary Special RequirementsPhysical Working Conditions:Climbing on an occasional to regular basisLifting/grasping up to 50 pounds without assistance regularlyWalking/standing on cement floors regularlyWalking up and down stairs regularlyBalancing on an occasional basisStooping, bending, kneeling, crouching regularlyCrawling on an occasional basisPushing/pulling/reaching regularlySpeaking/hearing frequentlyPerform maintenance on equipment that may not be visible and would require being completed by feel or touch on an occasional basisThe visual ability to operate machinery and perform mechanical or skilled trade dutiesThe visual ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assignedComputer literateNotes:FLSA: ExemptThe Wyoming Department of Corrections is a Drug-Free Workplace.
