About the Position:

Davies Institute for Speech and Hearing is seeking an experienced, collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist to serve as a part-time clinical supervisor and mentor for our Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs).

This position is ideal for an SLP who enjoys clinical leadership, mentoring, and developing other professionals but does not want the demands of a traditional full-time caseload.

The majority of this position can be completed remotely with a flexible schedule . The supervising SLP will periodically come onsite for direct observations, mentoring, collaboration, and clinical support. Onsite visits will be planned in advance whenever possible.

Our goal is not simply to meet supervision requirements. We are looking for an SLP who wants to help our SLPAs grow into confident, thoughtful clinicians while ensuring that our patients and families receive high-quality care.

What You'll Do:

Remote Clinical Supervision:

• Provide ongoing supervision of assigned SLPAs in accordance with Texas licensing requirements and Davies Institute policies.
• Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, progress, and implementation of therapy recommendations.
• Meet virtually with SLPAs for scheduled supervision, case consultation, and clinical problem-solving.
• Provide timely feedback, coaching, and guidance when clinical questions arise.
• Maintain required supervision documentation and ensure supervision requirements are completed appropriately.
• Collaborate with clinic leadership regarding clinical concerns, professional development needs, or areas requiring additional support.

Mentoring & Professional Development:

• Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for assigned SLPAs.
• Help SLPAs strengthen clinical reasoning, treatment planning, documentation, family education, and professional communication.
• Identify opportunities for continued professional growth.
• Support a positive learning environment in which SLPAs feel comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance.

Periodic Onsite Support:

• Visit the clinic periodically for direct observation of SLPAs and their patients.
• Provide real-time coaching and feedback following observations.
• Model therapy techniques or clinical strategies when appropriate.
• Participate in occasional in-person mentoring, training, or clinical meetings.

This is not intended to be a traditional therapy-caseload position. The primary focus of the role is SLPA supervision, clinical mentorship, and quality of care.

What We're Looking For:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Texas SLP license in good standing.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
• Meets all Texas requirements to supervise SLPAs.
• Pediatric clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supervising or mentoring SLPAs, graduate clinicians, or other developing clinicians preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.
• Comfortable providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Dependable, responsive, and organized.
• Comfortable supervising clinicians through a combination of virtual and in-person interaction.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who enjoys teaching and mentoring other clinicians and sees supervision as more than simply reviewing documentation and meeting regulatory requirements.

Schedule & Work Arrangement:

Part-time | Primarily Remote | Flexible

The majority of supervision and administrative responsibilities may be completed remotely.

The SLP will also be expected to come onsite periodically for scheduled observations, mentoring, and clinical collaboration. Onsite expectations will be communicated and scheduled in advance whenever possible.
