Direct Counsel is seeking a Private Wealth, Trusts & Estates Associate with 3–8 years of experience to join a sophisticated and growing private client practice in Rochester, New York .

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney experienced in advising high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and closely held businesses on sophisticated estate planning, tax planning, wealth preservation, and trust and estate administration matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on estate and wealth planning matters.
• Develop and implement estate plans designed to preserve wealth, minimize taxes, and support multigenerational planning objectives .
• Counsel clients regarding estate, income, and gift tax planning .
• Represent and advise trusts, partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations in connection with private wealth matters.
• Draft and review estate planning and related transactional documents.
• Assist clients with trust and estate administration .
• Work with clients on planning strategies involving family and closely held business interests.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other advisors to develop practical planning solutions tailored to clients' financial and family objectives.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of relevant private client, trusts and estates, or wealth planning experience .
• Experience representing high-net-worth individuals and families .
• Experience with estate, income, and gift tax planning matters .
• Experience advising trusts and business entities, including partnerships, LLCs, and corporations .
• Familiarity with trust and estate administration .
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to client service.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $155,000–$220,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
• Potential additional contingent compensation based on performance and other applicable factors.
