Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population on a cardiac stepdown/overflow IMCU unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio across a 32-bed unit
• Manage and monitor continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics and anticoagulant infusions
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion for stable cardiac arrhythmias including A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia; manage CHF, chest pain, renal, and pulmonary conditions including COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, and DVT
• Care for surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains), post cardiac cath patients, TR Band management, and DKA; provide occasional coverage for vascular, ortho, or CVA overflow patients
• Apply TR Band management and demonstrate proficiency across the full Med-Surg scope of practice including basic arrhythmia knowledge
• Document accurately using unit systems; float within the facility within scope of practice as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Prior travel nursing experience required; experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications required — please confirm both upon submission
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred; familiarity with Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Background in overflow IMCU or stepdown environments with exposure to diverse patient populations
• Experience with post cardiac cath care and TR Band management
