Job Overview We are on several winning teams. Davis Unlimited Information Technologies, Inc (DUIT) is looking for cable technicians with at least 2 years of experience to join our IT team. Locations are in various parts of Maryland, such as Columbia. Primary Responsibilities Assist in running cables for building or racking of equipment or other cabling services. Read drawings to establish correct wiring/cable runs. Install cabling from transport/wiring closets to the customer access outlet with minimal assistance. Install cabling both under floor and above the ceiling in cable trays, troughs, wiring baskets, harnesses, and J-hooks. Field terminate cabling utilizing multiple types of connectors and technical techniques. Field test cabling for performance specifications. Label cables, perform cable management in racks and termination shelves. Terminate various types of copper connectors. Discuss pathways, spaces, bonding and grounding, and firestopping. Choose the correct tool or methodology for specific cabling tasks. What You Will Get to Do Perform cable terminology, testing, rack preparation, layout, installation, and documentation. Lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical tasks necessary for cable installation. Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years technical experience in IT cable installation and termination. BICSI Installer 1 certification required, or two (2) additional years of experience may substitute for certification. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds. Knowledge of cable termination, testing, rack preparation, layout, installation, and documentation. Background security check required; prior completed check is a plus. Preferred Minimum of five (5) years technical experience in IT cable installation and termination. Team leadership, engineering, and design knowledge to meet technical specifications. In-depth knowledge of termination equipment, methodologies, and splicing techniques. Valid BICSI Installer 2, Copper or Installer 2, Optical Fiber certification desired; three additional years of experience may substitute for certification. Benefits No red tape. Competitive salaries.
