Patient Care Technician I

Job Requirements Under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, the Patient Care Technician I delivers direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, performing phlebotomy, and collecting specimen samples. This position entails monitoring and accurately documenting patient conditions, collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate the plan of care, and ensuring patient safety through fall prevention measures and strict adherence to safety protocols. Additional responsibilities include supporting patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, providing wound care and management of orthopedic devices, conducting blood glucose testing, and maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment. The technician actively participates in patient rounding, promptly responds to alarms, and contributes to patient comfort and efficient care flow, while fulfilling all other duties as assigned in a full-time capacity. Work Experience Candidates must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, possess current Maryland state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Although prior experience is not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting. Successful applicants will exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate the ability to foster effective interpersonal relationships and collaborate within a team, and show proficiency in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities under pressure.
