About This Position This is a non‑employee, independent practice opportunity for orthopedic surgeons who wish to own and operate their own practice while receiving structured operational support from MedCBO. Physicians retain full clinical authority, decision‑making, and ownership of the medical practice. MedCBO provides non‑clinical administrative and operational support. Physician Responsibilities Provide orthopedic surgical care within the specialty scope. Develop professional relationships within the medical community. Coordinate payer credentialing and manage clinical quality and patient experience. Determine clinical services offered and set patient care policies. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination Billing and collections management Payer contract negotiation Financial infrastructure and reporting Operational workflows and staffing systems Technology platform and implementation Requirements MD or DO with unrestricted, good‑standing license in the intended state of practice. Board‑certified or Board‑eligible in an appropriate specialty. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice. Interest in the independent practice model. Preferred Desire for practice ownership. Community‑based care interest. Leadership or program development interest. Location Multiple U.S. markets (urban, suburban, rural) are available. Relocation and market selection are physician‑directed, subject to licensure. Compensation Compensation is generated by the physician‑owned practice and varies based on specialty scope, services offered, payer mix, physician activity, and local market conditions.
