Role: Assistant General Manager – Residential Service & Installation

Location: Omaha, NE – Aksarben

Salary: $130k-$160k, with bonus potential to make $200k

Aksarben Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, a trusted leader in home services across the Omaha area, is seeking an experienced HVAC Assistant General Manager to oversee our Residential HVAC division. 

• Plans and manages designated service and support operations within a service center location.
• Assists the general manager in providing management support to create an environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, customer satisfaction and high standards of service.
• Utilizes human resources effectively to increase business, manage workload and job costs, achieve production and margin objectives and provide quality services to customers and contractors. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do As An Assistant General Manager:

• Manages and develops designated service center operations staff, which includes hiring, terminating and disciplining of employees, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, scheduling employees, counseling employees, coordinating training, evaluating performance and directing work assignments to ensure effective operations.
• Implements operational plans and budgets to achieve profit and growth goals. Monitors departmental expenditures. Enters and maintains operational statistics to include call tracking, daily sales, technician tracking, vehicle maintenance, etc.
• Manages daily service center operations to ensure that proper procedures and guidelines are in place and followed for provision of quality installations and services.
• Performs or manages service functions to ensure quality work, competitive pricing and establishment of appropriate production goals.
• Manages support functions to ensure implementation and compliance with appropriate office procedures, records maintenance and reporting.
• May manage and coordinate warehousing functions to ensure adequate inventory levels and turns, proper material handling procedures, accuracy of stock count, timely reporting of warranty claims and proper housekeeping.
• Implements operational plans to achieve profit and growth goals. Monitors departmental expenditures.
• Participates in sales generation by actively seeking new business and assisting in the creation of sales material and training sessions. May provide ongoing sales training to staff.
• Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Remains current on changes within the regulatory, economic and competitive environment which may affect the operations of the service center.
• Assists in the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of internal controls and policies and procedures for operational areas.
• Reviews and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident free and healthy work environment. Oversees safety reporting.
• May assist in establishing pricing structures and labor rates.
• Monitors dispatching operation to ensure that all work is distributed evenly and appropriately to technicians based on workload, technician availability, technician expertise and priority of need. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 5+ years of experience in operations management, branch management, service management, or general management within a residential or commercial service-based industry.
• Experience in home services industries such as HVAC, plumbing, roofing, solar, restoration, electrical, landscaping, pest control, or other field service organizations is strongly preferred.
• Related experience, leadership experience, advanced training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for specific industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience leading teams, driving operational performance, managing budgets, developing employees, and improving customer satisfaction is preferred.
• Working knowledge of service operations, scheduling, dispatch, sales performance metrics, customer experience, and field workforce management is preferred.
• HVAC technical knowledge, trade licensure, and experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems are beneficial but not required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to learn industry regulations, local codes, and company operating standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, financial acumen, computer proficiency, and organizational skills required.
