In this role, you will be responsible for the welding, fabrication, and assembly of components, structures, and fixed assets within our shop environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated welder who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys contributing to a collaborative, production-focused team.Key Responsibilities:Shop FabricationWeld, fabricate, and assemble parts, frames, brackets, and components according to drawings, specifications, and established procedures.Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements.Material PreparationCut, grind, fit, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication.Verify material dimensions and readiness before fabrication begins.Layout & Fit-UpMeasure, layout, mark, and fit components accurately.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to ensure proper assembly.Quality ControlInspect completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy and quality.Identify and correct defects when necessary.Shop OrganizationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Assist with inventory organization and restocking of shop materials as needed.Safety ComplianceFollow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment operating guidelines.Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and contribute to a strong safety culture.Required3-5 years of shop welding and fabrication experience.Proficiency in:MIG (GMAW)TIG (GTAW)Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)Air Arc GougingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.Ability to work flexible hours and overtime during peak workload periods.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.PreferredCurrent welding certifications.Experience working with a variety of metals and fabrication techniques.Familiarity with shop equipment, machinery, and material handling practices.What We're Looking ForA team player who values safety and quality.Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work.A self-motivated individual who can manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.A professional who is committed to continuous improvement and learning.Kokosing is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
