Ultrasound Technologist

An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist (also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) with an area healthcare client where you'll use your expertise to operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce high quality images that are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• National certification in specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). ARDMS or CCI registration for vascular ultrasound is required.
• Required modalities: Echo and Vascular experience is required.
• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
• Maintain required certification, registries, health requirements, and operational requirements. Candidates must be able to provide copies of registries and diplomas on request.
• Valid driver's license required. Periodic driver's license checks will be performed. Candidates must be able to provide a copy of license(s) on request.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required or candidate must provide approved exemption documentation.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Minimum one year of sonography experience preferred.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills, including printing, scanning, and emailing documents.
• Ability to lift and transport equipment bag (approximately 18–20 pounds) and pull wheeled cart up to 250 feet.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Provide mobile ultrasound services primarily in nursing homes, home care facilities, prisons, and processing sites throughout the region.
• Self-dispatch or call into dispatch to obtain the day's caseload. Arrive at first case at the start of assigned shift or depart home 30 minutes prior to first case.
• Unload portable sonographic equipment, perform ordered exams, and obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent images using portable ultrasound systems.
• Digitally send studies to Radiologist for interpretation following facility and company protocols.
• Verify all orders against the patient chart before performing exams. Obtain two patient identifiers prior to imaging. Document nurse verifier if patient cannot self-identify.
• Do not perform patient transfers or heavy lifting for transfers. Facility staff are responsible for transfers and positioning support.
• Check voicemails and self-dispatching system regularly. Respond to urgent communication within 15 minutes.
• Wear company uniform and badge. Carry company-provided phone while on duty.
• Maintain vehicle and sonographic equipment. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Complete required medical physicals, TB screening, and annual infection control training. Provide documentation to HR within two weeks of annual exam.
• Scan exam-related paperwork and billing daily per protocol.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, call center, peers, supervisory staff, and clients. Attend required meetings.
• Adhere to company policies including drug-free workplace, criminal background reporting, and code of conduct.
• Train other technologists as required. Work independently with limited supervision.
