Java Backend Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer who is passionate about solving complex business problems through innovation and strong engineering practices.

The role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable enterprise backend applications and services using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Oracle, and cloud-native technologies.

The engineer will work as a strong contributor within an Agile delivery team, collaborating with architects, developers, and stakeholders while adhering to modern software engineering, code quality, security, CI/CD, and cloud-native development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable Java backend applications and services.
• Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and Oracle.
• Apply strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery team to achieve sprint goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, documentation, and engineering standards.
• Design and implement Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, Event-Driven Services, and cloud-native applications.
• Develop high-performance APIs using REST and GraphQL.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex applications, coding, integration, and performance issues.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective defect resolutions.
• Use Docker for application containerization and Kubernetes/OpenShift for orchestration and deployment.
• Participate in and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and release processes.
• Develop and automate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to maintain strong code quality.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate software development, build, deployment, and operational processes.
• Communicate technical progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and potential bottlenecks effectively.
• Required Technical Skills
• 8+ years of software development experience, with strong specialization in Java backend development.

Strong hands-on experience with:

• Java
• Spring Boot
• Microservices Architecture
• RESTful APIs
• Oracle
• SQL / PL/SQL
• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Java design principles.
• In-depth understanding of modern application architecture and software design patterns.
• Strong experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and Microservices Architecture.
• Experience developing Event-Driven Services.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL API implementations.
• Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), particularly Oracle.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend APIs.
• Experience with cloud-native application development.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
