You will use your technical expertise, diagnostic equipment, and knowledge of Ford repair procedures to identify transmission concerns, perform quality repairs, and help ensure every vehicle operates safely and efficiently.Qualifications & Requirements3+ years of previous automotive technician experience required, preferably with a focus on transmission diagnosis and repairFord factory training and certifications are a plusASE certifications, particularly in automatic transmission/transaxle, are a plusExperience with Ford diagnostic systems, transmission testing, and factory repair procedures preferredMust have basic hand tools and the ability to perform transmission maintenance and repairsProficient in transmission diagnostics, inspections, fluid services, and general automotive repairAbility to diagnose and repair transmission and transaxle systems, torque converters, valve bodies, clutches, solenoids, electronic transmission controls, and related driveline componentsAbility to identify transmission performance issues, shifting concerns, fluid leaks, abnormal noises, and electronic fault codesFamiliarity with scan tools, diagnostic software, and manufacturer-recommended testing proceduresProduction averaging over 100%Commitment to quality repairs, customer satisfaction, and dealership performance standardsStrong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid driver's license and a safe driving recordMust successfully complete required pre-employment screeningBenefits4-day work week availableFlexible work schedulesClosed SundaysCompetitive payComprehensive benefits plan, including 401(k)Employee discounts on vehicle purchases, parts, and service repairsPaid holidays and PTOASE certification reimbursementTenure bonusesApprenticeship program availableState inspection trainingOpportunities to join our community service initiativesInternal career advancement opportunitiesIn This Role, You WillDiagnose, inspect, and repair automatic and manual transmission systems and related driveline componentsPerform transmission removal, installation, replacement, and repair as requiredIdentify and troubleshoot transmission shifting problems, slipping, vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and electronic control issuesUse Ford diagnostic systems, scan tools, and technical resources to accurately identify transmission concernsPerform transmission fluid and filter services, inspections, and other preventive maintenance proceduresInspect torque converters, clutches, solenoids, valve bodies, and other transmission components as applicableDocument all work performed and recommended on assigned repair ordersMake accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicleCommunicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeMaintain technician proficiency as specified by Darcars standardsConduct road tests to diagnose transmission concerns and confirm repairs have been successfully completed when necessary and practicalPerform all levels of diagnosis and repair related to assigned transmission and driveline workUtilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and managementParticipate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new transmission technologiesMaintain manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores at or above Darcars specified goals for district, regional, and national performanceComplete the work, notations, and timekeeping necessary for warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claimsReport to management any situation or condition that could jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or employeesEnsure customer vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being servicedUnderstand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirementsComply with all applicable laws and company policies regarding the safeguarding of customer vehicles, property, and informationPerform other duties as assigned by managementThis job advertisement in no way states or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by this employee.
