District Expectations Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physical presence is expected as part of a reliable and predictable pattern of attendance. Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan. Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism. Maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform essential duties. Responsibilities Design and implement appropriate instruction of content area(s)/course(s) assigned in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and student needs. Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport. Deliver relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement. Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet individual student needs. Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards, monitor assessment data, and maintain grades and attendance. Manage student behavior by using effective classroom management strategies and appropriate disciplinary procedures. Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement. Take all appropriate precautions to provide for student health and safety and protect equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain and secure confidential records, inquiries, and data. Maintain appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required. Perform any other duties as assigned. Mathematical skills: Works with probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions. Reasoning ability: Solves practical problems, interprets instructions. Computer skills: Microsoft Office. Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, hearing. Lifting up to 10 pounds. Reaching with dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead. Noise intensity: moderate (3).
