Job Title: Strategic Account Manager  

Summary: This position is responsible for managing the sales activities of Strategic Partners to strengthen the relationship and meet or exceed sales forecasts/goals. 

 

Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:  

• Meet or exceed sales forecast/goals.
• Champion assigned customer accounts within ebmpapst organization and build layered relationships throughout the customer organization.
• Expand the relationship with the strategic customer and have a thorough understanding of who the influencers, advocates, and decision makers are, at each given account.
• Travel to customers to develop, maintain, and improve relationships and business opportunities. Travel can be up to 60% of the time.
• Coordinate support teams including SBF management, engineering, and customer service to maintain focus and drive value to the customer. 
• Analyze forecasts, track projects, monitor design opportunities and understand and implement customer goals and objectives.
• Have detailed knowledge and notes of all active projects. Provide fast and accurate updates to Executive Leadership when information on the account is needed.
• Coordinate information sharing between multiple customer locations.
• Lead internal and external calls. Facilitate the conversation with customer engineering and internal engineering. Take detailed notes for follow up and action items.
• Update CRM software regularly with projects and key customer contacts.
• Together with Market Managers, oversee quotes and adherence to pricing contracts.
• Manage, negotiate and review customer contracts, transaction supply programs, and unique terms and conditions.
• Ensure profitable growth as it relates to assigned accounts.
• Provide sales call reports as required.
• Provide monthly reports.
• Submit weekly Expense reports.

• Adhere to the Company’s Travel Policy.

• Perform all other duties as assigned. 

 

Recommended Education and/or Experience 

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or engineering preferred

5 years sales or engineering experience, 3 + years sales management preferred.

Excellent presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft suite
