Scrub Tech Position
Scrub Tech experience required. Must be able to scrub c-sections.
Under the supervision of the department of nursing, this position performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit, and serves as the focal communication source in the nursing station through interaction with patients, visitors, staff, other departments and physicians. Under the supervision of the department of nursing, this position performs various duties assisting the staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital.
STATUS: PRN (as needed) Rotating Shift
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Surgical Tech certification required.
SKILLS
- Basic simple nursing skills needed to function in labor, delivery, newborn nursery and post-partum.
- Removal of urinary catheters and IV catheters.
- Application of external fetal and maternal monitor.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology.
- Use of correct terminology, spelling, grammar in documentation.
- Effective verbal and communication skills.

Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and behaviors appropriate to the populations (s) served, and based on specific criteria and/or age specific considerations, as follows:
- Possess skills and knowledge to perform tech related treatments for neonates, adolescents, adults.
- Demonstrates age specific communication skills in care of patients.
- Knowledge of growth and development.
