Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on  Maintenance Technician/Electrician with a strong electrical aptitude to join our stable manufacturing team in Elk Grove Village. They will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing both mechanical machinery and complex electrical systems (such as rectifiers and distribution circuits).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive electrical installations, including running electrical circuits, bending conduit, and wiring systems directly into breaker boxes and switchgear.
• Run and bend copper piping to connect heavy-duty rectifiers; execute ongoing preventive maintenance and deep troubleshooting on active rectifiers.
• Ensure all daily electrical troubleshooting and structural repairs strictly comply with established Arc Flash (NFPA 70E) safety standards.
• Diagnose system failures and complete precision electrical work with or without engineering drawings or electrical schematics.
• Inspect, observe, and listen to operating machinery and facility equipment to diagnose mechanical malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments.
• Dismantle complex industrial machinery, facility systems, or power equipment to examine parts for defects or structural wear.
• Replace defective components with new parts, or reproduce custom replacement parts from various metal stocks using specialized workshop tools.
• Reassemble machinery and execute test runs to verify that mechanical or electrical malfunctions have been fully resolved before releasing to production.
• Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance, including routine lubrication, belt changes, and safety sensor alignments on machine tools.
• Utilize functional welding skills (MIG/TIG or stick) as needed to reinforce structural frames, repair mounts, or construct facility fixtures.
• Follow established paperwork procedures to establish, track, and close out active maintenance work orders, verifying accuracy on all job cards.
• Train and monitor new personnel as requested, providing positive team leadership and immediately reporting critical safety or machinery issues to supervisors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, Vocational/Technical Education preferred, minimum of two years related industrial/electrical experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
• 2 to 4 years of industrial electrical or mechanical maintenance experience; or recent graduation from an accredited technical/vocational school with a focus on Electrical Technology or Industrial Maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience bending conduit, pulling wire, hooking up breaker panels, and troubleshooting electrical panels.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime hours based on facility production demands and critical machine downtime.
• A strong, zero-compromise commitment to personal safety, facility lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and high-quality craftsmanship.
• Familiarity with industrial electroplating/plating processes and high-power DC current systems is highly desirable.
• Conversational or fluent bilingual skills in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Prior experience navigating the urgent timelines of a high-volume industrial production or machinery manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Overtime maybe required based on production needs.
