Title: Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Employment Type: Contract

Compensation Range: $27 - $35 per hour

Location: Warm Springs, Montana

Work Schedule: 1st Shift (7 AM–7 PM), 2nd Shift (7 PM–7 AM), 3rd Shift (11 PM–7 AM)

Position Summary

The Mental Health Technician provides direct support to patients receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and assisting the clinical care team.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor patient behavior and safety.
Observe and report behavioral or medical changes.
Assist patients with daily living activities.
Facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities.
Support crisis intervention and de-escalation.
Escort patients throughout the facility.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Follow hospital safety procedures and treatment protocols.

Required Qualifications

Previous Mental Health Technician experience or equivalent behavioral health experience.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a secure psychiatric environment.
Crisis intervention experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Inpatient psychiatric hospital experience.
CPI or similar crisis prevention certification.
