Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $66.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

On-Call: Required | Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Cath Lab Technologist to support a leading healthcare system in Houston, TX . This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled cardiovascular imaging professional to work alongside physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams while supporting advanced cardiac catheterization and invasive radiology procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and the healthcare team with cardiac catheterization and other invasive radiology procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the examination process, and provide compassionate patient care throughout the procedure.
• Operate fluoroscopy and advanced imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Assist with patient positioning, imaging techniques, contrast administration, and other procedural requirements as directed.
• Maintain and monitor accurate patient information and documentation within electronic medical record systems.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Perform quality assurance checks on radiology and imaging equipment and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Identify and report accidents, patient concerns, equipment issues, or other incidents to department leadership.
• Maintain adequate supplies and support efficient department workflow and inventory management.
• Participate in emergency and on-call coverage as required.
• Maintain competency through required continuing education, training, and skills assessments.
• Serve as a resource, mentor, or preceptor to less experienced staff as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication, and a commitment to providing compassionate and personalized patient experiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous Cath Lab, cardiovascular, invasive radiology, or interventional imaging experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with fluoroscopic procedures and C-arm imaging preferred.
• Experience with Philips imaging equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of radiation safety, diagnostic imaging procedures, and patient care standards.
• Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
• Strong technical, communication, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Must be available for required on-call coverage and live within 30 minutes of the hospital .
