Construction Senior Accountant - Colleyville, TX

Senior AccountantBring your construction accounting experience to a well-established company near Colleyville, TX. As Senior Accountant, you'll run day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for its projects and related entities, report to the Controller, and work closely with project managers, operations and leadership on job cost, WIP and project profitability.Responsibilities:Assist with annual audits and tax preparationImprove accounting procedures and internal controlsProvide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for management and project teamsPrepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedulesRun month-end and year-end closeMaintain the general ledger and review journal entriesHandle construction job cost accounting and analyze project profitabilityMonitor WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accountingSupport revenue recognition under applicable accounting standardsReconcile balance sheet, bank and intercompany accountsReview subcontractor pay applications, retainage and project billingsTrack labor, equipment, materials and overhead allocationsSupport AP, AR and cash managementPrepare sales and use tax reports and other regulatory filingsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in constructionStrong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; able to juggle priorities and hit deadlinesStrong grasp of job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion, retainage and construction contract billingKnowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, CMiC or a similar ERPAdvanced ExcelNice to Have:Multi-entity accountingFamiliarity with lien waivers, subcontract agreements and project complianceClear communication with operations and project management teamsStrong attention to detailCompensation & Benefits:$105K-$125K base salaryHealth, dental and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
