Job Responsibilities Careers at DPH: Work that makes a difference! Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity Under direct supervision, utilizing the agency values of Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursing Excellence and Advancing Equity performs Women, Infants and Children (WIC) client administrative support duties WIC Clinics. Implements and adheres to agency/program policies and procedures for efficient service delivery. Maintains strict confidentially and upholds all agency privacy practices. Performs all administrative duties required to provide Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services to participants. Includes (but not limited to): Utilizing SCWIC computer system and Medicaid Web system, conducting eligibility interviews and requirements, interview of economic unit and proof (ID, residency and income) review and documentation, and application processing standards. Motor Voter offered at initial or subsequent certification. Informs and educates clients on program policies and procedures. Completes outgoing transfers. Completes WIC services in accordance to WIC policy and procedures. Performs all administrative duties required to issue eWIC cards and Farmer's Market coupon booklets. Assures for accuracy of enabling eWIC cards. Educate participant on downloading the WIC Mobile App. Assists participants with pinning their eWIC cards, redemption of food instruments, use of WIC ID Card and WIC Food Guide. Maintains WIC program security per policy and procedures. Completes and maintains required WIC reports and handles returned mail correspondence and reminder letters or phone calls. Maintains current knowledge of electronic records in accordance with program/region and Comprehensive Health Records User's Manual Policies and Procedures, to include documentation, confidentiality, and retention, archiving and filing according to program guidelines. Complies with agency and program records management requirements. Assist in maintaining the Non-Participation/ Eligible for Benefits Report15- Day Notice Report, mailing reminder letters and/or reminder phone calls and returned mail correspondence. Provides quality customer service in a culturally competent manner in face-to-face and/or telephone encounters. Maintains confidentially following all HIPAA policies and procedures. Assists with outreach activities to promote the WIC program to potential participants Documents client level data to include race/ethnicity during the interview. Follows customer service, cultural competence guidelines, as well as established clinic procedures as appropriate. Ensures customers receive qualified interpretation and translation. Adherence to Civil Rights/Non-Discrimination policies. Participates in disaster preparedness and response as outlined by the DPH regional/county plan, during hazardous weather, or declaration of emergency. In the event of a declared emergency employee is subject to duty and or on call on a 24 hour basis for deployment in the state. Completes other duties as assigned related to the position. Minimum And Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma. Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Agency Additional Requirements: High School Diploma or GED with one (1) year related clerical experience or High School Diploma or GED with any amount of SCDHEC / SCDPH work experience An Associate's Degree in a Secretarial Science/related field & one (1) year clerical office experience; or a Bachelor's Degree or higher with no clerical office experience. Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the SCDPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.
