CNC Machinist

Job Title: Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team, specializing in the production of precision metal parts and components for various industries, including adhesives, sealants, coatings, cosmetics, and specialty chemicals. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest machinery to ensure top-notch manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create precision metal parts, tools, and components using equipment such as lathes, drill presses, micrometers, blasters, and grinding machines.

• Prepare and operate machinery to grind, cut, and polish materials, following all safety protocols.

• Study design criteria and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine required equipment and materials.

• Develop and execute plans for project completion with the appropriate tools.

• Operate and assist with the Haas ST45L CNC machine and perform manual machining tasks when necessary.

• Engage in troubleshooting and verifying solid work using G-Code.

Essential Skills

• Experience in heavy assembly or millwright work.

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding design specifications.

• Knowledge of machines, rotating parts, couplings, bearings, seals, gearboxes, and motors.

• Ownership of personal hand tools, with access to a company tool program.

• Familiarity with tolerances and testing procedures.

• Ability to operate and work safely with overhead cranes.

• History of good attendance and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with Haas ST45L CNC machines is a significant advantage.

• Ability to work in both CNC and manual machining environments.

• Competence in CAD and troubleshooting techniques.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled, with open-air conditions that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is oriented towards custom orders, so a mindset focused on quality is essential. Team members must adhere to a dress code that includes wearing steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and gloves. The team consists of four assemblers fostering a small family environment. The shift is from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with potential overtime due to the volume of orders and staffing needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT MILL, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
