Accessioning Technician, Tuesday - Saturday 9a-5:30p

Position Summary: As an Accessioning Technician you will ensure proper handling of all specimens received and prepare specimens for laboratory testing. This position includes such functions as matching patient information, data entry, aliquoting, and scanning documents. This is an onsite position, Tuesday–Saturday 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. shift, with training that includes overnight shifts for a month. Responsibilities Receive and sort specimens for testing Review all requisitions for missing information and work closely with Client Services to obtain missing information in a timely manner, then distribute the new information to all departments involved Report problem holds and provide resolution in a timely manner Accession all cases received for testing, including data entry of all pertinent information into the LIS Timely and accurately enter data into the LIS, label samples and create folders, generate specimen travel documents, and forward respective samples to personnel/ departments Assemble case paperwork and files, including pre‑analytic documentation and labels Perform entry of add‑on testing and coordinate split specimens Send out specimens to appropriate reference laboratories by coordinating the shipment process, maintaining client communication, and generating the necessary logs Education, Experience & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required At least one year of experience equivalent to an Accessioning Technician preferred Proficient with MS Office programs Ability to communicate effectively Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual Benefits Competitive health insurance (HMO and PPO), 401(k) match, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, leadership development, 16 days of paid time off plus holidays, wellness courses. #J-18808-Ljbffr NeoGenomics Laboratories
