Weekend Production Manager

Meyer Utility Structures is seeking a highly motivated Weekend Production Manager who will work in combination with the Assistant Plant Manager overseeing the production at our Gadsden, AL plant. The Weekend Production Manager will monitor and evaluate workflow, assembly methods, as well as recommend and implement process improvements to improve output at the plant location.Meyer Utility Structures is a proud subsidiary of the infrastructure company, Arcosa, Inc. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What You’ll Do:Ensure all employees follow all safety procedures and protocolsManage daily production operations of heavy industrial productsLead, coach, and manage multiple supervisors to achieve their daily goalsSet nightly production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and qualityWork closely and communicate with employees daily to ensure expectations for Quality, Production, Safety and On Time Deliveries are met or exceeded.Overcome obstacles as they appear in achieving established safety, production, efficiency, and quality metricsFill in for supervisors and manage individual production bays, when required by absences or vacations of production supervisorsManage personnel issues as they arise, with the help of HR and other support resourcesEnsure the production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costsAssist in continuous improvement activities to improve the movement of materials through various production processes.Produce and deliver annual performance reviews to each supervisor as part of our annual performance evaluation processEnsure 30-, 60-, 90-day reviews are accomplished by each supervisor for all new hiresEnsure appropriate training documentation is completed on each new hireEnsure the readiness, appropriate training, and proper documentation of all new hires is completed on time by each supervisorReview and approve PTO requests, weekly timecards, daily timesheets, and other required items by the appropriate deadlinesWhat You’ll Need:5+ years of successful leadership experience, preferably at the superintendent or an equivalent level, in a heavy industrial manufacturing environmentSolid managerial and leadership attributes as demonstrated through previous successful professional work experienceExperience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, specifically with flux and/or metal core welding is highly preferredThorough knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably related to transmission polesA high level of analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesA demonstrated ability to successfully lead multiple leaders/supervisors in accomplishing their goalsA high degree of professionalism, dependability, maturity, and strong leadership characteristics as demonstrated through previous professional work experience.Must be able to work weekends.Regular and predictable attendance, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.Job SummaryRequisition Number: WEEKE014835Job Category: Manufacturing OpsSchedule: Full-Time
