Recommended experience includes working in pediatric medical-surgical units and participating in multidisciplinary care teams. As a Pediatric Nurse, you'll care for a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to 18 years old on a growing pediatric unit. This includes infants transitioning from Level II NICU with stable respiratory status who are completing the final days to weeks of their stay as they mature neurologically and developmentally. The unit also supports both medical and surgical pediatric patients with conditions including respiratory illnesses, infections, feeding problems, hyperbilirubinemia, diabetes, and general surgery. Care is delivered in a single-room, family-centered environment, with nurses collaborating closely with neonatologists, pediatric hospitalists, and community physicians.
