Sales Consultant

Job Summary Sales Consultant – La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Dover, NJ. Base pay + unlimited commission. Key Responsibilities Drive sales and meet store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories and services. Promote the Design program and assist the Designer. Execute La-Z-Boy selling process: approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, objections, closing, follow‑up. Maximize store promotions and marketing initiatives. Schedule and conduct professional home consultations, present customized room designs. Use Podium for sales and customer follow‑up. Support store operation: visual appearance, labeling, catalog maintenance, cleanliness. Maintain accurate order information and daily On‑Point system logs. Assist with deliveries, opening/closing store, and handling customer issues. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Previous selling experience, preferably in luxury or retail. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage time, prioritize, and work well in a team. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Podium. Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $13/hr (varies by location). Commission: 3% on Design sales, 2% on other sales; unlimited commissions. Quarterly bonus opportunity of $1,500. Training pay: $16/hr for 2–6 weeks. Health: Medical, Vision, Dental, Basic Life Insurance. Retirement: 401(k) with up to 6% company match. Paid time off: 9–11 paid holidays, two weeks prorated vacation as a new hire, personal or sick time. All compensation is compliant with applicable state and local minimum wage requirements.
