Sr Payroll Analyst

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of company payroll across all pay cycles. This role serves as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions, reconciliations, and audits, and works closely with HR, Finance, and outside agencies to ensure payroll operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll expertise, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. Position Responsibilities Process full-cycle payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule, including regular, overtime, bonus, and off-cycle payments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and wage and hour regulations Reconcile payroll data prior to transmission, including validating hours, deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions Maintain and audit employee payroll records, ensuring data integrity across payroll and HRIS systems Process new hires, terminations, status changes, and other employee data updates within payroll systems Prepare and review payroll tax filings, W-2s, and other required reporting in coordination with Finance and/or outside payroll tax vendors Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely, professional manner Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing documentation and reports as requested Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate general ledger coding and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiency Stay current on changes to payroll regulations and tax law that may impact processing Maintain strict confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Your Profile Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour law, and tax compliance requirements Proven experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, UKG, or similar platforms) Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with sound judgment and discretion Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees at all levels Highly organized, with the ability to manage competing deadlines during payroll cycles Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively across HR and Finance teams High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard payroll/HRIS software #J-18808-Ljbffr FX Staffing
