Afterschool Child Care Worker

Christian Heritage School is a thriving, academically and spiritually rigorous Christian day school located in Southern Connecticut. With more than 400 students, we are one of the largest K–12 Christian schools in the Northeast. Our students grow in knowledge, faith, and character within a loving, grace-filled environment.

We are seeking a creative, caring, and energetic Childcare Worker for our Kingsmen Kids after-school program. This entry-level position provides supervision and support for students as they play, complete homework, and participate in age-appropriate activities.

Position Details

• Position : Entry-level, part-time
• Schedule : Monday–Friday, when school is in session
• Hours : 2:00–5:30 p.m.
• Rate : $17.50

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children during activities, homework, free time, and outdoor play.
• Provide a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for all students.
• Follow program policies, health and safety guidelines, and emergency procedures.
• Provide age-appropriate and respectful discipline.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Help keep program areas clean, organized, and well maintained.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director.
• Attend staff meetings and training as requested.

Qualifications

• Understanding and acceptance of basic Biblical principles and adherence to the school’s Statement of Faith.
• Genuine love for children and young people.
• Maturity, dependability, patience, and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for children.
• Experience working with children, particularly ages 5–11, is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Must successfully complete a background check.
