Available Location: Austin, Texas, US About the team The Data Intelligence & Analytics team builds a centralized analytics platform and cloud data lake that gives Business Partners and Product teams actionable insights. We democratize data, support critical business needs, and provide reporting and analytics through self‑service tools. About the role This internship targets students with experience and interest in Data Engineering. The Data Engineer Intern will deliver full‑stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline. The role relies on systems engineering principles to design and implement solutions that span the data lifecycle—collect, ingest, process, store, persist, access, and deliver data at scale and speed. It requires knowledge of local, distributed, and cloud‑based technologies, data virtualization, and security and authentication mechanisms. What you’ll do Work through all stages of a data solution lifecycle—analyze/profile data and create conceptual, logical, and physical data model designs. Architect and design ETL, reporting, and analytics workflows. Apply modern enterprise data architectures, design patterns, and data tool sets. Identify key metrics and build executive‑facing dashboards to track business progress. Analyze business levers, establish cause & effect, communicate findings to stakeholders to facilitate data‑driven decision‑making. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Customer Support, Product, and Engineering. Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Currently enrolled in an M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field. Available for a full‑time, 12‑week internship, working from the Austin office 3–5 days a week during the fall (Sept–Dec). Experience with Go, Python, SQL, Java, or equivalent programming languages. Experience with distributed systems (e.g., Spark). Willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Bonus Points Familiarity with container‑based deployments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
