The Senior Director of IDD Services provides leadership and strategic oversight for all IDD programs across the organization, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care aligned with CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) standards and NADD (National Association for the Dually Diagnosed) best practices. Providing direct oversight and strategic leadership for a comprehensive range of IDD services, including Residential Services, Day and Community Access Services, Supported Employment and Family Support Services, this role is responsible for integrating physical health, behavioral health, and developmental disability services to support individuals with complex needs, including co-occurring IDD and mental health conditions.


The Senior Director drives system-wide performance by overseeing service delivery, clinical quality, regulatory compliance (including Georgia DBHDD and Medicaid waiver requirements), and operational effectiveness across Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton and Clayton County sites. Senior Director of IDD Services fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.


Key priorities include advancing integrated care models, standardizing services, improving access and health outcomes, enhancing staff engagement and retention, and ensuring alignment with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, person-centered, recovery-oriented practices. This role partners closely with clinical leadership, community stakeholders, and external providers to ensure seamless, coordinated care across the full continuum of services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision, coaching and training of IDD Directors.
• Lead integration planning efforts to align staff, workflows, documentation, standard operating procedures, and culture to maintain a unified vision and consistent service delivery across all counties.
• Build and sustain a cohesive leadership team across counties.
• Standardize program operations, performance metrics, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure consistency of best practices throughout IDD services that are person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive and aligned with waiver service definitions and billing requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate service capacity, including staffing levels, vacancies, turnover, and training or supervision gaps, to identify needs and implement targeted improvement strategies.
• Monitor key performance indicators, including service utilization, compliance metrics, and outcomes.
• Oversee budgeting and financial performance for IDD services in alignment with funding and waiver requirements. Identify and pursue opportunities for program growth, funding, and service expansion.
• Oversee all IDD services to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards to maintain readiness for external reviews not limited to: DBHDD, DCH-Medicaid COMP/NOW & HCBS rules, NADD, CCBHC, HFR.
• Ensure training meets regulations and organizational requirements.
• Develop, review, and revise IDD policies and standard operating procedures as needed.
• Communicates with clarity, consistency, and transparency, engaging all IDD staff to drive accountability, commitment, and sustainable results.
• Serve as the primary liaison with DBHDD regional offices and state leadership.
• Engage with county stakeholders to ensure alignment with local needs and VPH priorities.

Additional Functions include:

• On-call responsibilities for urgent health or safety issues.
• Collaborate with VPH leadership for strategic planning activities.
• Participates in external meetings, agency committees, initiatives and/or special projects and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in IDD, behavioral health, or related services.

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certification that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year over year.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with dual diagnosis (IDD and mental health conditions).
• Demonstrated experience leading organizational change or large-scale team integration.
• Strong knowledge of DBHDD, CARF, HFR, NADD standards and COMP/NOW Waiver and HCBS regulations.
• Licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, BCBA, RN, or related) is a plus.

Requirements/Competencies:

• Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
• Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
• Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
• Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
• Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Ability to travel across program sites and respond to on-call or urgent clinical situations as needed.
