Salary Range: $1,800 - $3,000 USD per month (The final offer is at the client's discretion and depends on the candidate's interview result, skills, and experience.)

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to take ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting operations, billing, and accounts receivable processes.

This is a highly impactful role for someone who enjoys both hands-on bookkeeping and process improvement. The right person will streamline existing workflows, manage high transaction volumes, improve billing operations, and become a trusted member of the leadership team as the company continues to grow.

While the immediate priority is bookkeeping and AR, there is long-term opportunity to expand into more advanced accounting, reporting, and financial planning responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

Bookkeeping & Accounting

• Own the day-to-day bookkeeping function
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
• Classify and reconcile transactions
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Maintain organized financial documentation

Accounts Receivable & Billing

• Create and distribute client invoices
• Manage ongoing accounts receivable
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and collections
• Monitor payment activity and ensure timely collections
• Set up new customer accounts and billing profiles
• Support billing inquiries from internal stakeholders

Process Improvement

• Help simplify and improve existing accounting workflows
• Work across multiple invoicing platforms during the company's system transition
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies
• Build scalable finance processes that support company growth

Financial Operations

• Support expense tracking and reporting
• Assist leadership with financial reporting as needed
• Partner closely with the Co-founder to gradually transition ownership of finance operations
• As the company grows, provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• 3–5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Strong QuickBooks experience
• Experience managing accounts receivable and billing
• Experience reconciling high transaction volumes
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred

• Staff Accountant experience
• CPA designation (or equivalent accounting qualification)
• Experience supporting a marketing agency, advertising agency, or professional services business
• Experience improving accounting processes and workflows
• Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, or FP&A
• Experience with multiple billing or invoicing systems is highly preferred, e.g.:
• Fat Merchant Stax (Client Billing)
• Hyphen (Client Billing Platform)
• Heartland Payroll (Payroll)
