Histology Technician

Job Description

Pride Health is hiring for a permanent Histology Technician to lead and support daily operations of a laboratory in White Plains, NY 10601. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and long-term career growth.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Histotechnician or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform high-quality laboratory and histology procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical competency, attention to detail, regulatory compliance knowledge, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform embedding, microtomy, tissue sectioning, and slide preparation procedures
• Complete routine H&E staining and evaluate stain quality
• Perform special stains and immunohistochemistry procedures
• Verify positive/negative controls and maintain run logs
• Ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling throughout processing
• Maintain quality control documentation and regulatory compliance standards
• Participate in CAP, Joint Commission, and NYSDOH readiness activities
• Assist with inventory management, reagent tracking, and equipment maintenance
• Support departmental quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician License or NYS Histotechnician License
• Degree in Medical Technology or related science preferred
• Minimum 1 year of hospital Histology experience preferred
• ASCP Certification preferred

• Pay Range: $28/hr – $55/hr (Open for negotiation)
