EVS Technician (2nd shift) | 40 hours per week | Environmental Services

Job Details Minimum hiring wage: from $16.50 per hour. Scheduled hours: 2:00pm – 10:30pm. Job Summary Routine cleaning to provide a clean environment. Ensures the cleanliness of patient rooms, public areas, lounges, restrooms, and other assigned areas to maintain department/clinic standards. Responsibilities Ensure the cleanliness of patient rooms, public areas, lounges, restrooms, and other assigned areas to meet department/clinic standards. Clean rooms and offices, empty trash and linen receptacles, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and spot‑clean. Check and refill all dispensers; clean restrooms; dry mop and sanitize floors. Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to keep the hospital clean and orderly. Make beds, replenish linens, clean rooms and halls, and vacuum. Destroy discarded patient health information as required. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water, other cleaners, microfiber rags, and squeegees. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Gather and empty trash and recycling. Notify managers of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Extract or shampoo carpets. Clean patient rooms, offices, public areas, procedure rooms, and ancillary areas using the 8‑step method. Qualifications High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Preferred: previous housekeeping or cleaning experience. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects. Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and chemical processes, including uses of chemicals, interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others. Strong verbal communication skills, including listening, asking questions, and not interrupting. Manual dexterity: ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach with arms and/or legs.
