RN/LPN Evenings Float Pool (Part-Time)

Our Float Pool Nurse position offers the unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of care at ChildServe. Nurses in this role provide support where it’s needed most floating between our Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation unit, and Medical Group Home. This position is ideal for a flexible, skilled nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and caring for children , adolescents and young adults with complex medical needs.

Schedule/Benefits

• 6pm-midnight, 3-4 shifts per week
• Benefits, PTO accrual, including 8 hours of PTO front-loaded

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met. 
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.

What You’ll Need

• Current valid license as a Registered RN or LPN in Iowa.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently. 
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.
