Title: Security Officer 2 Department Org: Hospital Safety - 111000 Employee Classification: C1 - Classified Full Time HSC Bargaining Unit: Professional Staff Association Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 3 Start Time: 11:00p End Time: 7:00A Weekend/Holiday: Yes Job Description Under the direction of the Hospital Security Director and AssistantDirector, the Security Officer 2 is responsible for carrying outlead functions for the security staff such as scheduling, shiftstaffing, incident reports, assignments, test bank training, shiftroll call and assigning daily tasks. The Security Officer 2 (SO2)works closely with the University of Toledo Police and HospitalStaff to provide a safe and secure environment for all patients,visitors, staff, faculty and students. The SO2 is always aware oftheir surroundings, using situational awareness to identifycriminal or unsafe conditions. The SO2 is responsible for thedispatch center operations and field operations on the HealthScience Campus and to protect and serve the UT/UTMC community. TheSO2 adheres to and administers all required Security OperatingProcedures as well as University customer service iCare Standardsat all times. The SO2 must attend and follow all departmentspecific safety education and training in an effort to create asafe work environment for all. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degreepreferred. Must have two (2) years of Security officer, Law enforcement, ormilitary service experience. Valid driver’s license and insurability required and insurableunder the university driving policy. Supervisory and/or leadership experience desired or demonstratesability to assume leadership role. Must be proficient in the 900 MHz Kenwood and 800 MHz Motorolaradio systems, ARMS record management system, Pro-Watch system, CCTV system, and othercomputers and/or equipment. Must have current CPR and AED certification. Must be certified in Professional Assault Crisis Training. Competency in computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet and e-mail)required. Must have proven dependability and consistency. Must possess the physical ability to walk long distances,perform in inclement weather, and perform daily repetitiveduties. Must be able to function effectively in an organization whereservices are provided to multiple departments and in multiplelocations. Must possess Honesty, Integrity and Trustworthiness to thehighest degree. Must be an excellent communicator with good listening skills,strong writing skills, and polished oral presentation skills, andwho is able to relate effectively with all constituencies.
