Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
• Explain procedures to patients to create a trustworthy environment, demonstrating professionalism and sensitivity.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of specimen collection and processing activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment consistent with clinical standards.
• Perform daily activities independently under the supervision of the area supervisor, demonstrating process excellence.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive image for the healthcare facility by delivering quality service and confidentiality.

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, with the ability to draw blood accurately and safely from pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on error-free work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills to explain procedures and build patient trust.
• Keyboard and data entry proficiency.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
• Must be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is required.
• Must list home city and commute time on resume (within 20-25 minutes to site).
• Candidate should be available to work scheduled shifts, be punctual, and stay for entire shifts. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
