This position operates on a scheduled shift in a warehouse environment, requiring manual labor, operation of standard power equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and adherence to safety guidelines.

About the Role
The Material Handler II is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of customer products and materials within a warehouse setting. This role involves manual labor, forklift and pallet jack operation, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with safety and warehouse procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork to support efficient warehouse operations including stocking, picking, and shipping.

Key Responsibilities

• Locate and pick customer products manually or using forklift, pallet jacks, and tow motors, following established safety and operational procedures.
• Count, weigh, and accurately record the number of units handled daily on production sheets.
• Complete order processing tasks such as stenciling, slip-sheeting, stretch wrapping, labeling, and consolidation as required.
• Load and unload orders according to operational policies, including completing paperwork such as Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit, and Lot Verification.
• Move, stack, and stage customer products using hand tools or power equipment while maintaining accurate records.
• Assign trailers to dock or yard locations, ensuring safety measures like wheel chocking are followed, and inspect trailers for safety and cleanliness prior to loading.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform adjustments or report defects immediately.
• Assist with facility maintenance activities to uphold cleanliness, order, and safety standards.
• Complete activity reports, participate in physical inventories, and support safety programs and process improvements such as 5S Lean methodology.
• Support warehouse activities like sanitation, crate assembly, and moving loose materials as directed.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of forklift operation experience, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Ability to operate forklifts, tow motors, pallet jacks (motorized and manual).
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse operations.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Proficiency in learning and operating computer systems, scanners, and warehouse technology.
• Basic math skills, ability to read and write legibly, and data entry proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to communicate professionally.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs+ as required for forklift operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience.
• Forklift certification.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, and manual handling within a warehouse setting.
• Maintaining safety and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Use of PPE such as steel-toe boots/shoes to ensure safety compliance.
