MRI Technologist

This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor. The role involves achieving the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose is to aid medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizes entry-level knowledge and skills to provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centered care under routine or emergent conditions. Preparation of patients for procedures and correlation of clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians is essential. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and operational goals. Utilizes a variety of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required elements are documented and technical quality is consistent with established protocols. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting. Performs operator-level quality control checks and routine maintenance per manufacturer instructions. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.
