Trial Paralegal

Position Summary: Bradley is seeking an experienced Trial Paralegal to provide comprehensive support throughout the full litigation lifecycle - from pre-claim investigation through trial and appeal. This role carries a strong emphasis on courtroom trial support, including serving as the trial technologist responsible for evidence presentation technology in the courtroom and management of the war room. Candidates must be comfortable with nationwide travel and hands-on trial technology, including proficiency with OnCue trial presentation software. Key Responsibilities: This position requires a skilled trial technologist who can:
- Serve as the primary trial technologist in the courtroom, managing all aspects of evidence and exhibit presentation during trial.
- Set up, configure, and operate OnCue trial presentation software for live courtroom display.
- Plan, organize, and establish the trial war room, including technology infrastructure, exhibit staging, and workflow logistics.
- Configure courtroom technology connections, including display systems, monitors, and audio/visual equipment.
- Coordinate with court staff and opposing counsel on technology protocols and courtroom setup requirements.
- Troubleshoot technology issues in real time during trial to ensure uninterrupted proceedings.
- Travel locally and nationwide as required to support trial teams at various venues.
- Collaborate closely with trial attorneys to ensure seamless presentation of evidence and exhibits.
- Manage cases from inception through trial and appeal, including document productions, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.
- Draft routine court documents such as notices of appearance, pro hac vice motions, motions for extension of time, motions for default, deposition notices, and subpoenas.
- Maintain proficiency in federal and state court procedures and e-filing requirements across jurisdictions.
- Calendar hearings, court dates, and discovery deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organize, analyze, and index documents and exhibits for deposition, hearing, and trial.
- Assist with all aspects of deposition preparation, including witness prep materials and exhibit binders.
- Maintain the Deposition Database (Opus2) and keep records current throughout the case lifecycle.
- Create and maintain trial exhibit and deposition designation databases.
- Assist with the preparation of pre-trial and post-trial briefs.
- Manage hard copy and electronic case files, including email and electronic document management.
- Assist with document productions, including redacting, copying, and Bates stamping.
- Cite-check exhibits and legal authority in briefs and legal memoranda.
- Conduct internet research and pull cases from Westlaw as needed.
- Convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner.
- Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies (preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Minimum 5 years of trial experience, with demonstrated hands-on courtroom trial support responsibilities.
- Proficiency with OnCue trial presentation software is required.
- Experience with Opus2 deposition database management preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state court procedures and e-filing systems.
- Strong command of the litigation process from pre-trial through post-trial and appeal.
- Detail-oriented with superior proofreading and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and clients.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally and nationwide as required for trial.
- Ability to work moderate to heavy overtime, including during trial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage concurrent projects with shifting priorities.
