Assistant Coach - Track & Field

JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Coach - Track & Field (10-month) will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the team under the guidance of the Head Coach in a manner that is consistent with goals of the program and the policies and procedures of Southeastern University. The Assistant Coach will have recruiting responsibilities, be able to work collaboratively with the head coach, and perform other duties as assigned.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Head Coach - Track & FieldSupervisory Responsibility: N/AIndirect Supervisory Responsibility: N/AESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:1. Attend all practices, games, and recruiting functions2. Plan and execute daily meeting and practice activities3. Actively recruit prospective student-athletes to SEU4. Support the Christian mission of SEU5. Adhere to all applicable NAIA, Sun Conference, and institutional rulesADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIESN/AAll remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.LOCATIONLakeland Main CampusEDUCATIONRequired Education:Bachelor's degree requiredPreferred Education:Master's degree in any fieldLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSN/AEXPERIENCERequired:A minimum of 1-3 years (or the equivalent) as a collegiate coachSuccessful background as a high school coachPreferred:3 years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level (but not required)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequired:1. Advanced knowledge of the sport2. In-Season: 6 days a week, 8 plus hours/day 2.
