Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.The Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllership team has an opening for a Manager Technical Accounting supporting the ASDS Strategic Business Unit. The role includes assessment activities supporting revenue and bookings reported by the business.Responsibilities include review of new contracts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for revenue recognition timing and method, review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages, and application of finance policies and procedures to business activities. Additional responsibilities include support of special projects, offset accounting assessments, audit activities, and training activities.Relocation assistance available, provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.What You Will DoTechnical Accounting point of contact for the Raytheon ASDS Strategic Business UnitAssessment of new awards for revenue recognition, timing of booking, and identification of performance obligations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAPReview of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages for long-term contractsApplication of U.S. GAAP and company policies to finance activitiesParticipation in technical accounting projects including policy harmonization, data analysis, system testing, and process improvement activitiesSupport of external and internal audit activities, including ad-hoc requests, quarterly reviews, and annual audit proceduresSupport of internal controls activities and execution of assigned controls in coordination with the SBU Assistant ControllerDocumentation of accounting judgments and assessments in formal white papersDocumentation of Offset Project Accounting memorandaQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.Working experience with SAP and/or APEX and/or similar systemWorking experience with MS Office tools, especially ExcelU.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.Qualifications We PreferCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certificationExperience with IT systems including data warehouses and ERP softwareWorking experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environmentsExperience with financial reporting softwareInteraction with stakeholders in team and matrix organization environmentsPreparation of written documentation and communication of accounting information in verbal and written formatsApplication of financial accounting concepts in accounting or finance activitiesExecution of assigned work activities in a matrix organization environmentExperience reviewing contracts or agreements for accounting treatmentExperience researching transactions under U.S. GAAP or company policiesExperience preparing or reviewing Estimates at Complete (EACs)What We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
