TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

Job Description Transportation Manager Reports to: Facility Manager Classification: Exempt SUMMARY The Transportation Manager will oversee drivers and their collection routes to ensure customer collections are managed in a safe and efficient manner. The individual will schedule customer routes and communicate deadlines to the drivers. The Transportation Manager will interact with customers, employees, members of Sr. Management, and regulatory representatives. In every case, this individual must so present themselves with the professionalism and discretion appropriate for each interactive situation. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Launch, plan, and supervise the day-to-day onsite operations of your specific area and personnel Monitor inventory of supplies needed, including safety gear, warehouse supplies, and office supplies Oversees truck maintenance plan with lease company Oversee maintenance for plant equipment Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following-up with consistent discipline and retraining Conduct onsite and mobile observations for improved safety and productivity Supervise proper flow of paperwork with ops specialists Formulates both short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the district manager Interacts with customers as needed, including some site visits Engages suppliers in problem solving and participates in suppliers’ improvement processes by providing performance feedback on supplier surveys. Serve as a back-up to drivers when needed Other tasks and responsibilities as needed or assigned QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Must have a good driving record within 3 years; no accident reported Must have excellent customer service skills with other employees, customers and regulators Must understand how to use computer for data entry Must be able to use software app on mobile phone for manifest documentation Excellent organizational and prioritization skills Quickly adapt to changing business demands Quickly grasp and adapt to new tasks, software and protocols Must meet all applicable DOT and licensing requirements Licensed for vehicle to be driven (Class A, B or C) Must be able to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC) Strong communication skills Excellent organizational and prioritization skills Climbing in and out of vehicle and cargo area EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule Additional hours as job duties demand TRAVEL - OTHER Travel to domestic Trilogy facilities when necessary (less than 10%) Must have a current, valid driver's license Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy WORK CONDITIONS Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
