Welder Fabricator

WelderAs a Welder you will be responsible for performing all position welding on products in accordance with code requirements, alignment and dimensional specifications, working from drawings, specifications and/or material specification codes, selecting welding procedures and techniques best suited to the type of work and materials involved to obtain proper penetrations, fusion and strength, offset distortion and maintain alignment, using MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment. Material types will include various grades and surface finishes of metals.ResponsibilitiesCompetency in welding processesTrained in hand tool, torch, and arc welding equipmentTrained in laser, electron beam, and gas weldingWelding safety guidelinesSafety guidelines when cleaning tools and equipmentUsing work orders, and blueprint layouts to complete workProficiently layout and weld platesRead and follow the production scheduleSafely operate jib and overhead cranesAble to work with little supervisionChecking welds to make sure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprintProlonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbingBetter weld processesExpectationsA Welder should have patience, ensuring the welding process is accurately completed while adapting quickly if things change around them during work hours.
