Transfer all patient calls to the proper room or area in which the caller requests. To ensure all emergency phone calls are treated with professionalism and efficiency. Switchboard Operator PRN! The Patient Access team is in need of a Switchboard Operator PRN! This position is located at our Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital. Key Responsibilities Operates a PBX switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls appropriately Maintains a working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in accordance with hospital policy Works under immediate supervision of PBX supervisor Follows direct instructions as prescribed by the PBX supervisor, ED Patient Access Supervisor, Patient Access Director, Rehab Director and/or the Psych Director Welcome patient and family members in a professional manner Contact the nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answer patient and visitor questions Our professional administrative functions include critical supporting roles in information technology and informatics, finance, administration, legal and community affairs, human resources, communications and marketing, development, facilities, and many more.
