Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients in various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and proper handling to maintain specimen integrity.
• Verify patient demographic information and confirm tube labels in the presence of patients post-venipuncture.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and professionally to patients.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
• Perform specimen collection and processing duties confidently, adhering to safety and confidentiality policies.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and professional environment at all times.
• Support process excellence and organizational goals through attention to detail and teamwork.
• Travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations.

Required Skills

• Proven proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in keyboard/data entry with high accuracy.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, required.
• Experience in a patient service center environment is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Training locations may vary based on availability and staffing needs.
