Physician Assistant

Cardiothoracic Surgery PA locums in Montana with a full time, ongoing need and a defined mix of OR first assist and inpatient rounding, including vein harvesting and ICU rounds for thoracic and vascular services.

Highlights

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Week-on week-off coverage considered
• Approximately eight patients per shift
• Long-term coverage

Practice Setting

• Inpatient service, adult patients
• Level 1 trauma facility, 30 beds in department
• OR first assist plus inpatient rounding, supporting cardiothoracic, thoracic, and vascular providers
• Team support includes 6 RNs, 4 PA/NPs, 1 MA, and 1 office staff

Schedule

• Four 10 hour shifts per week
• OR and inpatient call 1:4
• Weekend coverage needed, 1:5 weekends
• Week on, week off coverage considered if needed

Cases and Procedures

• OR first assist for cardiothoracic, thoracic, and vascular cases, 2 to 3 times per week
• Vein harvesting required, EVH required using Hemapro and Terumo
• Manage chest tubes, drains, and wounds
• ICU rounds included for thoracic and vascular services

Requirements

• Must be a Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• ACLS and BLS
• Montana license required, open to IMLC Physicians with an active IMLC LOQ
