Seeking a mid‐level PLC & SCADA Programmer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‐on automation work, problem‐solving, and traveling across the state to support a wide range of municipal clients. You’ll work primarily with AutomationDirect PLCs and VTScada systems, with opportunities to work on other platforms as needed.

This role includes statewide travel and 3-4 overnight trips per month.

Key Responsibilities

· Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems (primarily AutomationDirect; exposure to other brands a plus)

· Develop, configure, and support SCADA systems using VTScada

· Perform on‐site system commissioning, testing, and startup

· Diagnose and resolve automation, controls, and networking issues

· Collaborate with customers to understand system requirements and provide technical support

· Document system changes, updates, and project details

· Travel to customer sites across North Carolina (with overnight stays as needed)

Required Qualifications

· 3–5 years of experience in PLC programming, controls, or industrial automation

· Hands‐on experience with AutomationDirect PLCs or similar platforms

· Experience with SCADA/HMI development (VTScada preferred)

· Solid understanding of industrial networking and basic IT environments

· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings

· Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel statewide

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with additional PLC platforms (Allen‐Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.)

· Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)

· Basic understanding of servers, networking hardware, and Windows environments

· Field service or commissioning experience
