About the Role

VersaTube is seeking a motivated Retail Sales Engineer to help homeowners, property owners, and small businesses design and purchase the right building. This is an individual contributor role focused on consultative selling, building design, and closing sales from inbound phone calls, live chat, and web leads, supporting customers from first contact through order placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to inbound sales opportunities, including phone calls, live chat transfers, web leads, and saved designs, and follow a structured follow-up cadence.
• Own the full retail sales cycle from first contact through design review, quoting, order placement, and close.
• Review customer building designs and recommend adjustments that fit their intended use, site, and local snow, wind, and code requirements.
• Guide customers through engineered plans, permit timing, and foundation requirements so they know exactly what to expect.
• Set clear expectations on pricing, lead times, delivery, and what is included with each order.
• Serve as a liaison to the Engineering team when appropriate, submitting accurate engineering requests and clear specifications.
• Partner cross-functionally with Customer Experience, Engineering, Logistics, and Marketing to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain CRM accuracy, including lead status, activity, and follow-up.
• Share customer and market feedback with the team to improve products, processes, and the sales experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in consultative, inside, or retail sales roles; customer-facing contact center experience considered.
• Proven success consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a high-volume, quote-driven environment.
• Background in building materials, engineered products, manufacturing, or construction-related industries preferred.
• Technical aptitude: comfortable working with dimensions, plans, and specifications, and learning building design tools and code basics such as snow load, wind load, and permitting.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly self-driven, organized, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven sales workflows to manage pipeline and follow-up; Zoho experience a plus.
• Collaborative, with the ability to work well with Customer Experience, Engineering, and Logistics teammates.

• Full-time, in-person role based in Tolleson, AZ.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission. Typical on-target earnings range $85,000–$130,000+
