Responsibilities are primarily focused on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This will require providing technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, existing system studies and master planning efforts. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues to develop effective working relationships. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to be part of our growing firm.The project clientele includes K-12 Education, Higher Education, Commercial, Health Care, Science and Technology, municipal and institutional Facilities.Duties:Develop HVAC system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPsDesign and evaluate HVAC/mechanical systems across diverse market sectors, including load/energy calculations and equipment selection.Prepare detailed design documents, BIM models, specifications, reports, and code compliance research.Conduct building surveys, document existing systems, and perform construction administration, reviews, and QA/QC.Coordinate with other disciplines and lead project teams, serving as the primary client contact.Mentor junior engineers and support business development through client relations and project interviews.Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for clientsAssist in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations and participation in project interviewsSkills:Knowledge in the design of HVAC systemsFamiliarity with codes, standards, and design guidelinesExcellent work ethic and attitudeGood communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize workLEED certification / experience is a plusAbility to lead a team as well as work as part of a teamProficiency in Revit and BIM360, AutoCAD, and MS OfficeAbility to travelQualifications:8+ years design of HVAC systemsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredLocation: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid position after introductory period) Travel: 20% #LI-HybridThis role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysWellness programs and employee assistance resourcesProfessional development supportFounded in 1975, Salas O'Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for our clients, our team, and the world.
